gr-os is an office established in 2020 by Juan Gurrea Rumeu, to explore the physical and intangible potential of architecture.
We are committed to the production of thoughtful, well-crafted, and balanced buildings and spaces, which are both rooted in place and universal in their language.
We look simultaneously to the past and to the future. Departing from a thorough understanding of context and memory, we often find inspiration in historical traces and the beauty of the ordinary.
Trough the experimentation with form, scale, and materials, we enjoy evoking associations which encourage new interpretations and amplify the experience of space.
Juan Gurrea Rumeu is an ARB registered and RIBA chartered architect, currently practising in Barcelona. He studied architecture at the Welsh School of Architecture, the Royal College of Art, and the Architectural Association in London. Before establishing gr-os, he worked for architectural practices in Beijing, Paris, and Barcelona.
